Miniaturen - Computer - miniatures

Dollhouses are cultural history, too, they show how people lived in an earlier time.
For example, they illustrate very well the development of the kitchen.
Even the introduction of new technologies in our homes can be traced.
Now, when did the first PC show up in a doll's living room?

The first Lundby PC from 2000.
Many details, tiny mouse and even with illumination.

This is a very rough Euro Mini's model, made of plaster.

Newer model of Euro Mini's, even speaker boxes are to be found.

Bodo Hennig's PC is wooden, of course.
From 1996 on there was a simple type with a monitor still placed on the PC
- does anybody remember that?
Later came a more detailed version with printer
and a stack of blank CDs ready for burning.

Andere interessante Fragen:

Wann kam die erste Stereoanlage in die Puppenstuben?
Wann die erste Mikrowelle?
Der erste Flachbildschirmfernseher?
Die erste Kaffeemaschine?
Wann verschwand der Schallplattenspieler aus den Puppenhäusern?
Wann der Cassettenrecorder?
Wann das Tonbandgerät?
More interesting questions:
When came the first stereo unit into the dollrooms?
The first microwave?
The first flat screen TVs ?
The first coffee machine?
And when did the record player disappear from dollhouses?
When the cassette deck?

Update 15.05.2012

In largest flickr group about Lundby
I can only find one photo of a computer, added by myself.
There are no photos tagged with "computer".

1987? - ?

On Peppes old Lundby catalogues website I could hardly find my computer because of the bad copies of that period.
I think it was produced around 1987 but until when?

aus meiner Sammlung

2000 - ?
This computer came in 2000 - until when? And today?
Does the Lundby dolls house of today have no computers?
Is my Lundby computer collection really complete - with only 2 items?
Who knows more?

  1. Very interesting how you present the history that I certainly didn't think about. I am thinking now about all the different styles of telephones I have. I also remember my first PC that sounded like a car engine warming up. I love the photo will all your PC's. Thanks for making me a little smarter today.

  2. Very interesting questions! I think I have only two mini computers so far - I will check who made them, and get back to you.
I love Sloane Tanen's books! I don't have any myself - I have got one out of the library. Maybe I'll put them on my Christmas list ;-)
I did a post about one of her books: http://rebeccascollections.blogspot.com/2009/08/familiar-furniture-unfamiliar-themes.html - and Pubdolls and The Shopping Sherpa have too. (I linked to Pubdolls' post in my blog, and TSS put the link to hers in a comment to me, because I couldn't find it!)

  3. Hi you all, yes, more pictures of miniature computers would be very nice, I know of a new Lundby PC and there exists a Dora Kuhn version, both I have to buy eventually as PCs and coffee machines are my only modern collectibles. On my photo is a Barbie PC on the left, but I don't know for sure.
Very good that you blogged about Sloane Tanen already because I felt a little uneasy writing a very germanish post as my books of her are in german naturally. At least oese and Püppilottchen will laugh, I hope. I checked your pictures and I have chosen different ones so nobody will be bored, I hope.

  4. I love it. I have an old plastic miniature computer from my kids' doll house which is like an early Apple. What is funny too is my girls charm bracelets. The older one has the clunky one piece desk top computer and the heavy mobile phone, and the little one has a laptop charm and a cell phone charm. They are only 3 year apart too! CM

    LG, Nicola
