Eine Australierin, die deutsche Puppenhausmöbel der Fünfziger sammelt?
Als ich Dagmars Mail vor einer Woche las, wurde ich sofort neugierig.
Wie kommt jemand zu dieser Leidenschaft?
Abgesehen davon, dass es schon in Deutschland schwer ist,
schöne Stücke für eine Sammlung zu bekommen,
so muss es in Australien doch fast unmöglich und unglaublich teuer sein?
Also bat ich um mehr Informationen und um Fotos, wenn möglich.
Und hier sind sie nun, erst die Fotos, dann die Informationen 😏:

"Meine Familie zog 1958 nach Australien.
Als Migranten arbeiteten meine Eltern sehr hart und ein Puppenhaus war ein zu großer Luxus.
In den frühen 1960er Jahren schickten meine Großeltern meiner Schwester
und mir ein Schlaf- und Wohnzimmer-Set von Fritz Altmann.
Ich baute mein eigenes Puppenhaus aus hölzernen Obstkisten und übrig gebliebenen Tapetenresten. Als ich meine eigenen Töchter hatte,

Aber sie waren sehr schwer zu finden.
Schließlich beschloss ich, auf EBay Deutschland zu suchen.

Das war der Beginn meiner ernsthaften Sammlerei.
Als ehemalige Geschichtslehrerin musste ich mehr über diese Stücke recherchieren und verstehen,
und da haben dein Blog und dein Fickr-Konto mir die Türen geöffnet.
Ich versuche, jede Woche mehr zu erfahren und die Hersteller in meiner Sammlung zu identifizieren. Ich liebe auch die Kulturgeschichte hinter den Stücken.

But they were very hard to find.
Eventually
I decided to search on EBay Deutschland.
That was the beginning of my
collecting in earnest.
As a former History teacher I needed to research
and understand more about these pieces
and that’s where you blog and
Fickr account opened the doors for me.
I try to learn more each week and
identify the makers in my collection.
I also love the cultural history
behind the pieces.

They work really well and I now have 33 of them and have rearranged my whole dollhouse room so I can keep expanding the collection.

Dear Dagmar,
wonderful photos and wonderful interiors,
I also admired the accessories like drapes, pictures, carpets from the same time very much.
There are some very rare pieces and the sets are often complete - and wonderfully presented on top.
I am happy to show them on my blog, tomorrow the first half and one week later the other half of the photos.
It is amazing how many sets found their way to Australia - how long have you been collecting earnestly, i.e. on German Ebay?
And which of the photos shows your own two Fritz Altmann sets?
There are a few living rooms by Altmann but only one bedroom... so the bedroom is one of them but which of the lounge sets?
And did you decide for a special reason to have no dolls on display?

I am sending you photos of the original furniture.
I’m glad you like the styling that is something I love doing.
You asked about the original furniture;
very little of the bedroom remains as it was too damaged to repair. The wardrobe and dressing table (I made some repairs), and the mirror are original. The lounge room set survived with most pieces as you can see.
I no longer display the original bedroom but the lounge room does appear.
I always have space issues.
I’m embarrassed to say that the majority of the collection has been purchased over the last 18 months.
When I start collecting anything I’m a little obsessed!
I am retired so I have the time to hunt.
My husband has put me on a monthly budget!!
I also buy when I see something because it will not necessarily be there when I look again.
As with any new collection I am becoming more knowledgeable and discerning.
I use your blog, and “Wohnkultur 50er Jahre”, by Kohler and Isler , as my reference.
I have decided to focus on trying to find the furniture, by my favourite makers, that appears in the book.
This way I’m hoping to control my inclination to just keep buying random items.
It will mean moving on some of my less successful purchases eventually I suppose.
I have been able to buy some complete sets and also find the pieces to put others together.
What I love most about the collection is the design and styles of the era.
I am not a fan of dolls as I always think of my dollhouses as my spaces,
dolls limit the styling too. So I stay away from them.

Wie bei jedem neuen Sammlunggebiet werde ich immer sachkundiger und anspruchsvoller.
Ich benutze Deinen Blog und "Wohnkultur 50er Jahre" von Kohler und Isler als meine Informationsquellen.
Ich habe beschlossen, mich auf die Suche nach den Möbeln meiner Lieblingshersteller zu konzentrieren,
die in dem Buch erscheinen.
Auf diese Weise hoffe ich, meine Neigung zu kontrollieren,
weiterhin nur zufällige Gegenstände zu kaufen.
Das wird bedeuten, dass ich irgendwann einige meiner weniger erfolgreichen Käufe wieder abgeben muss, nehme ich an.
Ich konnte einige komplette Sets kaufen und auch Stücke finden, um andere zu ergänzen.
Was ich an der Sammlung am meisten liebe, sind das Design und die Stile der Epochen.
