Hochhaus - 1966 VERO - Sky scraper

Nach der Wende gab es 2,2 Millionen Wohnungen

 in Plattenbauweise in der ehemaligen DDR.

70 Prozent der Aussenwände hatten Risse, 

abblätternden Putz oder abgeplatzte Betonteile.
Das Betreten der Loggien und Balkone war gefährlich, 

weil jede zweite nicht richtig verankert war oder die Stahlträger rosteten.

After the German reunification in 1989 there were 2.2 million flats

 in typical prefabricated concrete-slab apartment buildings in the former GDR.
70 percent of the exterior walls had cracks,

 peeling plaster or chipped concrete parts.
Entering the loggias and balconies was dangerous because

 i.e. of rusted the steel structures.

Knappe zehn Jahre später, war "die Platte" dagegen plötzlich Kult

 und sogar Mittelpunkt eines Designfestivals.

Ein Plattenkulturprojekt entstand, die Platte sollte mit Phantasie neu gestaltet werden, 

Möbel und Tapeten selber gemacht werden, 

Betonwände wurden freigelegt, jeder soll in seinem Stil wohnen.

Ein halbes Jahrhundert nach dem Bau meines Platten-Puppenhauses wird die Platte ein kreatives Kulturgut und gilt auf einmal als moderne Wohnform mit Tradition:

Just ten years later,

"Die Platte" = prefabricated apartment suddenly became cult.
A "Platte" culture project is created,

 "Die Platte" could be redesigned with imagination, 

DIY furniture and DIY wallpaper, concrete walls could be exposed, every inhabitant could become a designer.

Half a century after the construction of my dollhouse "Die Platte"

 has become a creative cultural asset and is suddenly considered 

as a modern form of living with tradition:

In den Sechziger Jahren waren die Menschen in der DDR 

gerne aus den verfallenden Innenstädten mit ihren kaputten, 

muffigen Wohnungen in die neuen, lichten, hellen, 

im Grünen gelegenen P1-, P2-, QP- und WBS-70-Plattenbauten gezogen.

In the sixties, people in the GDR liked to move from the decaying

 inner cities with their broken, musty flats to the new, 

bright P1, P2, QP and WBS-70 prefabricated buildings in a green environment.

Das Puppenhaus ist sehr selten zu finden

noch seltener ist es in gutem Zustand erhalten.

Deshalb wurde es wohl auch am 28.11.2017 auf ebay.de

für 971,66 Euro verkauft.
