A. Sachse & Co
Glaswarenfabrik, gegr. 1885
A. Sachse & Co.
und nicht in Neuhaus am Rennweg.
Es wurden Glaswaren aller Art hergestellt,
der größte Teil wurde exportiert.
Allein das Perlensortiment umfasste damals
40.000 verschiedene Arten.
alle verbliebenen Unternehmen in teilweise privater Hand enteignet
und so wurde aus der Fa. Sachse die VEB Thüringer Glaskunst.

As mentioned in the 1950 advert from the trade journal "Das Spielzeug",
the company was founded in 1885 by Albert Sachse.
However, the first company headquarters were in Gablonz a.d. Neiße under the name
A. Sachse & Co.
and not in Neuhaus am Rennweg.
Glassware of all kinds was produced,
most of it was exported.
The range of beads alone comprised
40,000 different types.
After the death of Albert Sachse in 1921
his son Karl took over the company.
After the Second World War, the company lost all its foreign branches.
All that remained was the small branch in Neuhaus/Rwg,
which now became the head office.
The product range became large and varied again.
In addition to glass art, the company also produced chemical, pharmaceutical, surgical and
technical glassware were also produced.
Products from other companies were also sold.
Like all other private companies experienced, the East German state tried to force
to force a stake in the company.
Karl Sachse was even imprisoned for two years.
In 1968, he had to tolerate state involvement.
At the beginning of the 1970s
remaining companies, some of which were privately owned, were expropriated
and the Sachse company became VEB Thüringer Glaskunst.
