Why did I buy this box?
I am particularly interested in the Caco ladies and their fashion.
Here we find a rare variant:
they have the usual heads of the 1950s,
but were manufactured during a period of change,
as plastic was being experimented with for the first time –
the hands are made of plastic.
This is extremely rare and therefore they can be dated well,
because the next step was a new model
with a narrow female head
around 1960,
which also featured plastic hands.

These next-generation dolls are in another Scenotest box of mine.

However, that does not mean that all the dolls have plastic hands –
only the adults do.
The cast is complete and all are from the same period.
No dolls were purchased later, and none were lost.
In the case of the adults, this means
that there is a set of grandparents, two other couples and
two working people.

Bei den Kindern muss ein älteres Pärchen,
dieses hier, ein jüngeres Pärchen in Schlafanzügen,
eine "Prinzessin", ...
Among the children, there is an older couple,
this one, a younger couple in pyjamas,
a ‘princess’, ...

... and a younger couple of children in everyday clothes.
This one.

Ein Erwachsenenpaar ist wie immer in Straßenkleidung
und das andere in Hauskleidung.
One adult couple is dressed in street clothes as usual,
and the other in home clothes.

Der Hund ist meist ein Terrier -
aber er kann verschiedene Größen haben.
The dog is usually a terrier,
but it can be of various sizes.

The rest of the equipment is remarkably identical
to my previous and subsequent Sceno boxes.
The dolls' clothes changed more often.
The owners
sometimes tell me something about the history of the boxes.
This box came with a handwritten letter
in which the former owner described
how she she loved to play with the box as a child.
When I consider that the box was always
sold as a therapy accessory and
was therefore certainly always exceptionally expensive,
this is certainly a rare story of origin.
Incidentally, she was pleased that the box was going to a good home,
i.e. that a collector was buying it.
